Zoutleeuw - Masterplan and refurbishment of the Grand Place

Technum
,

Public space in Zoutleeuw is in dire need of refreshment. Successive small-scale refurbishments have made the center disconnected and incoherent whereas mobility, the cultural heritage and the charm of the smaller streets and squares are unexploited potential.

A thourough diagnosis of public space supported by a participatory process allowed us to identify the town's major assets and drawbacks. We collaborated with the municipality in order to identify the main target groups : neighbours, shopkeepers, schools, disabled people and experts in local cultural heritage.

In a following phase, a masterplan as well as a detailed project for the main square will draw up the future of the city's public space with a special focus on coherence and quality of life.
